I was born and raised in Miami.   My parents came from Cuba when they were 17 years old. They came here to escape the revolution.   The government took everything away from them, my grandparents Business, Home, car, everything they owned.  The government said if you don’t like it, you can leave.  And so they did.

When I was a teenager, I worked in the corporate world.  There I met really strong women who became my mentors.  I admired these women and I learned so much from them. There in the corporate I met the father of my kids.  At some point, I realized I had everything any woman could ever want for themselves.  Great husband, 2 beautiful daughters, a nice home, a flourishing home business and yet I felt empty and unfulfilled.  I did not recognize the woman I saw in mirror everyday.    I used food, wine, TV , any distraction really, not to feel how I was feeling,  even though on the outside my life looked great.  I felt lost for such a long time and eventually I shut down.

Along this journey, I found some great tools and new mentors to help me navigate through this dark night of the soul.  Happiness is an “inside job”.  I leaned how to connect back to myself again, I realized that everything I’ve ever wanted is within.  I believe that when we abandon ourselves and look “outside” for happiness, this separation from self is what creates the internal suffering.
