Growing up in S.E., Washington, D.C. with my single mother and two sisters, I was very shy and introverted. It was so bad that when teachers called on me to answer questions in class, I would be scared to tears in front of the entire class. That made me the target of bullies, who would beat me up and rob me of my 50 cents nearly every day. I knew that I could not go through life being scared to talk and advocate for myself.

So, after nearly 25-years working in corporate, I committed myself to helping individuals overcome their challenges and advocate for themselves so they are able to reach their professional goals. To do this work, I started a company, MDK Brand Management, so I can positively impact people who have encountered similar or other challenges and help them break through and reach the top of their career.
